Alliston rips Orillia, 6-1

The Alliston Hornets were firing on all cylinders against the Orillia Terriers, and when the final buzzer sounded Hornets emerged with a 6-1 win.

Alliston got the win behind a great game by Mark ODonnell, who had two goals and one assist. ODonnell scored the first of his two goals at 3:52 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Alliston. Nic Archibald provided the assist. ODonnell's next tally made the score 6-1 Alliston with 3:00 left in the third period. Archibald assisted on the tally.

The Hornets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Orillia to score on any of its four power plays.

Alliston additionally got points from Jacob Tuck, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Nick Arcan, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Archibald, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Alliston also got a goal from Brendan Spencer as well. More assists for Alliston came via Jamie Bennett, who had one and Tanner Dockerty, who had three.

The Terriers were held below their usual level of production. Orillia puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

Tyler Brindle made 15 saves for Alliston on 16 shots. The Hornets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gordie Weiss rejected 20 shots on goal for the Terriers. Orillia incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
