ODonnell leads Alliston over Schomberg, 6-2

Mark ODonnell had two goals and one assist to lead the Alliston Hornets to a 6-2 victory over the Schomberg Cougars.

ODonnell scored on the power play at 19:11 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Alliston and again while on the power play 4:54 into the third to make the score 6-1 Alliston.

Schomberg's five penalties came back to haunt it, as the Cougars let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Schomberg was unable to stop Alliston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hornets eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Alliston's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Alliston also got points from Tanner Dockerty, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Alliston included Mitch Livingston, Matt Taylor, and Matt Cochrane, who each put in one. More assists for Alliston came via Nic Archibald, who had three and Jamie Bennett, Jacob Tuck, Joe Cochrane, Nick Arcan, and Brendan Spencer, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars were helped by Tristan Joseph, who registered one goal. Joseph scored 17:08 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Francesco Corona picked up the assist. Schomberg also got a goal from Ryley Egerton as well. In addition, Schomberg received assists from JP Crescenzi, who had two.

TJ Sherwood rejected 19 shots on goal for the Hornets. Alliston incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Luke Gamoyda recorded 32 saves for Schomberg. The Cougars totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-9 on the power play. Schomberg ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mitchell Robinson was ejected from the game.
