Stayner downs Erin, 8-5

The Stayner Siskins took home the win against the Erin Shamrocks, 8-5.

Stayner forced Erin's goaltenders to work all game long, totaling 38 shots and forcing 30 saves. Tom Denstedt made four stops and Mark Terry made 26. The Siskins surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Stayner averages 4.4 goals per contest.

The Siskins were led by Ben Lougheed, who registered one goal and two assists. Lougheed scored 12:43 into the first period to make the score 3-3. Derick Robertson assisted on the tally. Stayner additionally got points from Kort Weir, who also had one goal and one assist and Dylan Bursey, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Stayner included Quinten Bruce, who had two and Lucas Jeffery, Christian Papineau, and Sean Healy, who scored one goal each. In addition, Stayner received assists from Jamieson Buck, who had three and Trevor Franklin, Griffin Pearce, Cooper Martin, Kyle Lafreniere, Ryan Hudson, and Ricky Darrell, who contributed one each.

The Shamrocks were led by Adam Gibson, who racked up three goals. Erin also got points from Tyler Topham, who also registered one goal and one assist. Tyler Nieuwendyk also scored for Erin. Other players who recorded assists for Erin were Adam Anderson and Chris Grenier, who each chipped in one and Adam Ferrer, Connor Mortimer, and Liam Adamson, who contributed two each.

Stayner took out Xavier Portelance after he had made three saves and installed Trevor Bloch in goal, where he finished with 22 saves and the win. The Siskins incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Erin totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Shamrocks, Cameron DeFazio was ejected from the game.
