Huge game by Bruce boosts Stayner over Caledon, 8-2Caledon East Arena Sun, Nov 02, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Quinten Bruce had two goals and four assists to lead the Stayner Siskins to an 8-2 victory over the Caledon Golden Hawks. Bruce scored on the power play at 1:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stayner and again while on the power play 14:38 into the first to make the score 4-1 Stayner.Caledon's nine penalties came back to haunt it, as the Golden Hawks let up four goals while on the penalty kill. Stayner forced Caledon's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 32 shots and forcing 24 saves. James Cyfko made five stops and Sam Procopio made 19. The Siskins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Golden Hawks to score on any of their nine power plays. Stayner surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Siskins average 3.9 goals per game. Stayner additionally got points from Cooper Martin, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Kyle Lafreniere, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Brandon Watson, who also had one goal and one assist, and Ricky Darrell, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Stayner also got a goal from Sean Healy as well. More assists for Stayner came via Dylan Walker, who had one. Caledon was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 28.0 minutes per game the Golden Hawks had been spending in the box. Caledon was led by Steven Klomp, who tallied one goal and one assist. Klomp scored 50 seconds into the second period to make the score 4-2 Stayner. Steve Zeppieri assisted on the tally. Christian Bonaldi also scored for Caledon. Other players who recorded assists for Caledon were James Pitsadiotis, who had one. Trevor Bloch rejected 19 shots on goal for Stayner. The Siskins incurred 46 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Golden Hawks, Jake Mottershaw and Nick Figliomeni were ejected from the contest.
