The Penetang Kings failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Alliston Hornets shook off a number of penalties to win, 6-2.

Alliston was led by Mark ODonnell, who had one goal and one assist. ODonnell scored 16:22 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Alliston.

Alliston also had goals scored by Ryan Franks, who had two and Jacob Tuck, Gianluca Pallotta, and Tanner Dockerty, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Alliston were Jamie Bennett, Steve Griggs, Adam Arsenault, Payton Dunlop, Joe Cochrane, Matt Cochrane, and Nic Archibald, who contributed one each.

Penetang put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hornets to score on any of their eight power plays. The Kings did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Penetang averages 4.5 goals per game. The Kings' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Penetang averages 2.5 goals allowed per game. The Kings' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Penetang finished with 28 penalty minutes.

The Kings were helped by Craig Robinson, who registered one goal. Robinson scored 2:41 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Alliston. Matt VanBoven assisted on the tally. Jordan Schwartz also scored for Penetang. In addition, Penetang received assists from Kyle Burns, who had one and Hayden Cole, who had two.

TJ Sherwood made 20 saves for Alliston on 22 shots. The Hornets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Alliston ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dunlop was ejected from the game. Martin Lauzon recorded 24 saves for Penetang. The Kings registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. For Penetang, Mackenzie Bumstead was ejected from the game.
