Stayner blows out Huntsville, 4-0

The Stayner Siskins were firing on all cylinders against the Huntsville Otters, and when the final buzzer sounded Siskins emerged with a 4-0 win.

Stayner was led by Ricky Darrell, who had one goal and one assist. Darrell scored on the power play 8:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stayner. The Siskins had taken the advantage when Huntsville's Riley Vogels got sent off for hooking. Jamieson Buck assisted on the tally.

Stayner put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Otters to score on any of their five power plays. The Siskins' offense rang up 41 shots on Huntsville's net.

Stayner also got points from Cooper Martin, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Stayner also had goals scored by Ben Lougheed and Derick Robertson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Stayner were Trevor Franklin and Dylan Walker, who each chipped in one.

The Otters could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Huntsville averages 4.1 goals per game. The Otters did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 12 saves. Huntsville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Stayner's Trevor Bloch stopped 12 shots out of the 12 that he faced. The Siskins incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Hunter Ferguson recorded 37 saves for the Otters.
