Lade leads Huntsville over Orillia, 8-4

The Huntsville Otters' Evan Lade had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-4 win over the Orillia Terriers.

Lade scored at 10:22 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Huntsville and again while 17:08 into the second to make the score 6-4 Huntsville.

Huntsville found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Otters average 4.1 goals per contest. Huntsville was held back by its power play unit, which tallied one goal on 12 chances. The defensemen of the Otters were also effective in Orillia's zone, and came away with three goals. Huntsville struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Huntsville also got points from Jamie Halnan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Huntsville also had goals scored by Myles Bissonette, who had three and Josh Zantingh and Corey Miller, who each put in one. More assists for Huntsville came via Jesse Houlton, who had three and Elliott Lade, Sam King, Jake McIntyre, Nathan Zantingh, Sean Crowe, and Brendan Fitter, who each chipped in one.

The Terriers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 54 minutes in penalties during the game.

Orillia was led by Jason Stone, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Stone scored on the power play 4:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orillia. The Terriers earned a power play opportunity when Crowe was put in the box for high sticking. Ryan Tucci provided the assist. Orillia additionally got points from Tucci, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Orillia included Jacob Beard and Jackson Gunner, who scored one goal each. In addition, Orillia received assists from Jason Binnie, who had two and Denny Benson and Brock Welsh, who contributed one each.

Connor Christianson rejected 19 shots on goal for the Otters. Team's Jay Dix and Tyler Brown were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Orillia's starting goalie, Noah Leis, made 12 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Gordie Weiss, who stopped seven shots. For the Terriers, Jamie Borrelli and Tyler Simmons were ejected from the contest.
