The Simcoe Storm tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Port Dover Sailors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. Port Dover made the score 3-0 on a goal by Michael Boateng at 48 seconds in the third period, and Simcoe got as close as 3-1 when Corson Searles scored 8:41 into the third period. The Sailors' Mike Caluori was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Caluori managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.69 prior to the game. Port Dover excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Sailors forced the Storm goalie Nathen McKinnon to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Port Dover was led by Eric Mueller, who tallied one goal and one assist.
