Niagara rolls over Glanbrook, 5-2Gale Centre Thu, Jan 29, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Niagara Riverhawks were firing on all cylinders against the Glanbrook Rangers, and when the final buzzer sounded Riverhawks emerged with a 5-2 win. Kyle Robertson was all over the ice for Niagara, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Robertson scored the first of his two goals at 17:46 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Niagara. Peter Falivena assisted on the tally. Robertson's next tally made the score 5-2 Niagara with 1:22 left in the third period. Jakob Reeves picked up the assist. The Riverhawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Glanbrook to score on any of its three power plays. Niagara additionally got points from Dawson Ethier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Falivena, who also had one goal and one assist. Scott Grieve also scored for Niagara. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara were Alex Cipriano, who had two and Luke Brackett and Brandon McLean, who contributed one each. The Rangers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Niagara power plays. Glanbrook could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Rangers put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Glanbrook was led by Curtis Edwards, who finished with one goal. Edwards scored 16:27 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Niagara. Glanbrook also got a goal from Spencer Leenders as well. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Garnet Batrynchuk and Chad Carey, who each chipped in one. Scott Charanduk recorded 27 saves for Niagara. The Riverhawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matthew Venturelli took the loss and made 24 saves before being replaced by Jay Payton who made one save. The Rangers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Team's Kyle Dumais and Malcom Toman were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
