Czepek's goals lift Dunnville to 4-1 victory over Hagersville

Steven Czepek had two goals to lead the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats to a 4-1 victory over the Hagersville Hawks.

Czepek found the back of the net on the power play 3:16 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Dunnville and again while on the power play 13:31 into the second to make the score 3-1 Dunnville.

Dunnville was led by goalie Josh Rosettani, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Rosettani certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.69 entering the contest.

Others who scored for Dunnville included Damien Lalonde and Luke Rowe, who each put in one. More assists for Dunnville came via Mack Steele, who had three and Evan Huckalo, Davis Hart, and Dan Arrowsmith, who each chipped in one.

Hagersville's offense operated below its season average. The Hawks average 3.9 goals per game. Hagersville forced the Jr. Mudcats goalie Rosettani to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Hagersville was led by Brett Dykstra, who scored the team's only goal. Dykstra scored on the power play 10:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dunnville. The Hawks had taken the advantage when Dunnville's Hart got sent off for cross checking. Nick Sherwood assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Mudcats incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Curtis Dortenzio recorded 25 saves for Hagersville. The Hawks registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
