Glanbrook erases deficit to stun Port Dover, 4-3

The Port Dover Sailors could not hold down the Glanbrook Rangers, and Rangers erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win.

Glanbrook let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Rangers took a 3-2 advantage on a goal by Dan Mintenko APM at 18:31 in the second period. Glanbrook went down 2-0 after Port Dover's Sebastian Welc put the puck home at 1:30 in the first period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Eric Mueller at 4:18 in the third, the Rangers got the game-winner from Josh Pace at 12:10 in the third period.

Pace had two goals to lead Glanbrook to victory.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances. The defensemen of Glanbrook were also effective in the Sailors' zone, and came away with two goals. The Rangers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Noah Matteson also scored for Glanbrook. More assists for Glanbrook came via Nathan Fiorino, who had two and Anthony Whitwell, Curtis Edwards, Brad Parish, and Chad Carey, who each chipped in one.

Port Dover stifled Glanbrook's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Port Dover also got a goal from Tyson Myke as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Dover were Colin Streutker, who had two and Michael Almas, Colin Montour, and Nick Chiarot, who contributed one each.

The Rangers registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. The Sailors incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
