Grimsby downs Port Dover, 5-1

Curtis Conrad tallied one point to lead the Grimsby Peach Kings to a 5-1 victory over the Port Dover Sailors.

Grimsby stifled Port Dover's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Peach Kings forced the Sailors goalie Matt Murphy to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Grimsby also got points from Garnet McComber, who also registered one goal and one assist and Griffin Roubos, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Grimsby also got a goal from Matthew Jambrosich as well. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Brennan Smith, who had two and Trevor McEneny, Dillon Cipretti, Eric Cerino, and Nicholas Purves, who each chipped in one.

Port Dover's offense operated below its season average. The Sailors average 3.3 goals per game.

Marcus Hlywka made 21 saves for Grimsby on 22 shots. The Peach Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Murphy recorded 32 saves for Port Dover. The Sailors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Port Dover ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Camden Freeman was ejected from the game.
