Glanbrook uses shootout to best Dunnville, 3-2 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Glanbrook Rangers defeated the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams. Glanbrook's other shootout goal was scored by Brad Parish.

The Rangers came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Glanbrook fell behind 2-1 after a goal by Dunnville's Chad Springer at 18:45 in the second period. The Rangers knotted things up at 2-2 on a short handed goal by Cole Anderson at 9:47 in the third period.

Glanbrook's penalty kill excelled, as the Rangers gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Garnet Batrynchuk also scored for Glanbrook. More assists for Glanbrook came via Drew Jedrzejewicz, Curtis Edwards, and Noah Matteson, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Mudcats were held below their usual level of production. Dunnville averages 4.5 goals per game. The Jr. Mudcats forced Glanbrook goalie Jay Payton to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Dunnville also got a goal from Evan Huckalo as well. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Davis Hart, who had one and Mack Steele, who had two.

Jay Payton made 34 saves for the Rangers on 36 shots. Glanbrook incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For the Rangers, Matteson was ejected from the game. Josh Rosettani rejected 27 shots on goal for Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
