Novak leads Dundas to shutout victory over GrimsbyPeach King Arena Sun, Jan 11, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Brock Novak made 28 saves to complete the shutout and led the Dundas Blues to a 2-0 win against the Grimsby Peach Kings. Dundas' penalty kill excelled, as the Blues gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. Dundas was paced by Jake Bain, who had one goal. Bain scored 15:25 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Dundas. Alex Aquin picked up the assist. The Blues stifled Grimsby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dundas did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Blues put an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. Dundas was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Blues gives up 2.5 goals on average per game. Dundas' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Blues finished with 24 penalty minutes. Dundas also got points from Aquin, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Dundas came via Mitch Moriarity, who had one and Dan Pelosini, who had two. The Peach Kings' offense operated below their season average. Grimsby averages 3.7 goals per game. Dundas registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Blues, Connor King was ejected from the game. Jeremy Currie rejected 23 shots on goal for the Peach Kings. Grimsby ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Peach Kings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Aidan McCreadie was ejected from the game.
