Dunnville wins tough contest against Glanbrook, 6-4Cayuga Arena Sun, Dec 28, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats and the Glanbrook Rangers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Dunnville emerged with a 6-4 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Luke Rowe secured the win for the Jr. Mudcats with a goal in the third period. Rowe was all over the ice for Dunnville, as he had two goals in the win. The Jr. Mudcats' offense rang up 38 shots on Glanbrook's net. Dunnville took advantage of the Rangers' penalties, tallying three goals off of four power play opportunities. Dunnville also got points from Dan Arrowsmith, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Dunnville also had goals scored by Josh Meeuwse, Travis Sheldrake, and Jeff May, who scored one goal each. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Evan Huckalo, who had three and Bret Golding, Matt Dolan, and Damien Lalonde, who each chipped in one. Glanbrook was helped by Curtis Edwards, who registered two goals and one assist. Edwards scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:57 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Glanbrook. The Rangers had gained a power play chance when Mack Steele was whistled for hooking. Cameron Frail picked up the assist. Edwards' next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 15:12 left in the third period. Garnet Batrynchuk provided the assist. Glanbrook additionally got points from Batrynchuk, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Glanbrook also got a goal from Jeff May as well. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Josh Pace, who had two and Aaron Smith and Joel Tivanian, who contributed one each. Josh Rosettani made 14 saves for the Jr. Mudcats on 18 shots. Dunnville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Matthew Venturelli rejected 32 shots on goal for Glanbrook. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
