The Hagersville Hawks almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end. Dunnville led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Jr. Mudcats' Dan Arrowsmith scored on the power play at 2:08 in the third period to put Dunnville up 5-2. The Jr. Mudcats got the win thanks to a great game by Damien Lalonde, who had one goal and two assists. Lalonde scored 19:34 into the third period to make the score 6-4 Dunnville. Mack Steele provided the assist. Dunnville pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 30 penalty minutes. Dunnville additionally got points from Matt Dolan, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Arrowsmith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Dunnville also had goals scored by Travis Sheldrake, Jeff May, and Chad Springer, who each put in one. More assists for Dunnville came via Bret Golding, Evan Huckalo, and Luke Rowe, who contributed one each. Hagersville found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. The Hawks were led by Dan Mederios, who registered two goals and one assist. Mederios scored the first of his two goals at 10:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Derek Friesen assisted on the tally. Mederios' next tally made the score 4-2 Dunnville with 11:58 left in the second period. Hagersville earned a power play opportunity when Lalonde was put in the box for head contact. Cole Martin picked up the assist. Hagersville also got points from Friesen, who also tallied one goal and one assist. John Monture also scored for Hagersville. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Matt Rimac, who had two and Kyle Phibbs and Jacob Bianchi, who each chipped in one. The Hawks registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
