The Dundas Blues survived a determined comeback attempt by the Grimsby Peach Kings on the way to a 4-3 win. Dundas made the score 4-2 on a goal by Matt Johnson at 4:55 in the third period, and Grimsby got as close as 4-3 when Curtis Conrad scored 14:32 into the third period. The Blues got the win on the strength of a great game by Johnson, who had two goals and one assist. Johnson scored the first of his two goals at 2:00 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Dundas. Ray Thompson provided the assist. Johnson's next tally made the score 4-2 Dundas with 15:05 left in the third period. Dundas had gotten the advantage when the Peach Kings' Nicholas Purves was sent off for checking from behind. Jake Bain picked up the assist. The Blues kept Grimsby's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jeremy Currie made 30 saves on 34 shots. Dundas additionally got points from Thompson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Dundas also got a goal from Ryan Waterhouse as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Connor King and Cam McConnell, who each chipped in one. The Peach Kings were helped by Malcolm Lynett, who grabbed one goal. Lynett scored on the power play 10:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grimsby. Grimsby had gained a power play chance when Alex Aquin was whistled for roughing. Griffin Roubos assisted on the tally. Garnet McComber also scored for Grimsby. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Eric Cerino, Matthew Jambrosich, and Brennan Smith, who contributed one each. Brock Novak recorded 24 saves for Dundas. The Blues incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Peach Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Grimsby ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Purves was ejected from the game.
