The Niagara Riverhawks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1. Dunnville made the score 2-0 on a goal by Chad Springer at 3:57 in the third period, and Niagara got as close as 2-1 when Brandon McLean scored 8:56 into the third period. The Jr. Mudcats were led by goalie Josh Rosettani, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Rosettani will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.86. Dunnville was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Mudcats average 4.4 goals per game. Dunnville also got a goal from Josh Meeuwse as well. More assists for Dunnville came via Mack Steele, who had one and Damien Lalonde, who had two. The Riverhawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Niagara could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Riverhawks put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara were Dawson Ethier and Drew Trendle, who contributed one each. Dunnville incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Jr. Mudcats, Steele was ejected from the game. Scott Charanduk made 28 saves for Niagara on 30 shots. The Riverhawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
