The Port Dover Sailors had trouble finding ways to stop the Niagara Riverhawks, which beat Sailors, 7-3. Franklin Franck had a great game for Niagara, netting two goals. Franck's tallies came short handed at 13:49 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Niagara and 16:04 into the second to make the score 5-2 Niagara. Port Dover's power play was ineffective against the Riverhawks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Niagara forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The Riverhawks surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Niagara excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances. The Riverhawks outdid their season average for goals scored. Niagara has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Niagara also got points from Kyle Robertson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Niagara included Dawson Ethier, Dylan Lazarus, Peter Falivena, and Brandon McLean, who scored one goal each. More assists for Niagara came via Lucas Marcon and Dante Zawadzki, who contributed one each and Luke Brackett and Alex Cipriano, who each chipped in two. The Sailors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Riverhawks to score on any of their 15 power plays. Port Dover could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game. The Sailors were led by Braden Roberts, who registered three goals. In addition, Port Dover received assists from Scott Stirling AP, Bryson Barr, Nick DeLuca, and Colin Streutker, who contributed one each. Niagara ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nick Manlow was ejected from the game.
