Connor King lifted the Dundas Blues to a 10-1 victory with a hat trick against the Simcoe Storm. King's first goal came 6:34 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:06 into the first and at 6:33 into the third.Dundas scored early and often, and held a 4-0 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play. The Blues were led by goalie Dan Davies, who finished with 37 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Davies will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.68. Dundas forced Simcoe's goaltenders to work between the pipes, racking up 56 shots and forcing 46 saves. Nathen McKinnon made eight stops and Note Pursky made 38. The Blues put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Storm to score on any of their four power plays. Dundas' goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Blues average 4.4 goals per contest. Dundas additionally got points from Ray Thompson, who also registered one goal and two assists, Ryan Waterhouse, who also tallied one goal and four assists, Cam McConnell, who also had three goals and two assists, and Luke Laurin, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Dan Pelosini also scored for Dundas. In addition, Dundas received assists from Nick McMullen, Matt Scanlin, and Greg Harley, who contributed one each and Phoenix Schueler, Matt Johnson, and Zac Mihalis, who each chipped in two. Simcoe's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Dundas power plays. The Storm's offense operated below their season average. Simcoe puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Storm forced Dundas goalie Davies to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Simcoe was led by Drake Bailey, who scored the team's only goal. Bailey scored 11:23 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Dundas. Sam McPherson picked up the assist. The Blues ended with 39 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Storm incurred 44 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
