Derek Friesen lifted the Hagersville Hawks to a 4-2 victory with a hat trick against the Niagara Riverhawks. Friesen notched his first tally 11:57 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:10 into the second and at 7:50 into the third.Hagersville's penalty kill excelled, as the Hawks gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays. Hagersville stifled Niagara's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Hagersville finished with 48 penalty minutes. John Monture also scored for Hagersville. Other players who recorded assists for Hagersville were Kyle Phibbs and Jacob Solomon, who each chipped in one and Nick Sherwood and Matt Rimac, who contributed two each. The Riverhawks' offense rang up 34 shots on the Hawks' net. Niagara was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 52 penalty minutes. The Riverhawks were helped by Brandon McLean, who grabbed one goal. McLean scored 35 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Niagara. Dawson Ethier picked up the assist. Niagara also got a goal from Kyle Robertson as well. In addition, Niagara received assists from Dylan Lazarus and Alex Cipriano, who each chipped in one. Jonah Capriotti AP made 32 saves for Hagersville on 34 shots. The Hawks registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. For Hagersville, Dylan Spurr was ejected from the game. Scott Charanduk rejected 25 shots on goal for Niagara.
