Huge game by Arrowsmith boosts Dunnville over Niagara, 4-1

The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats' Dan Arrowsmith had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 4-1 win over the Niagara Riverhawks.

Arrowsmith beat Scott Charanduk with a shot 12:03 into the third period on the power play to make the score 3-1 Dunnville. Dunnville had taken the advantage when Niagara's Alex Cipriano got sent off for bench / coach. Mack Steele provided the assist. Arrowsmith dished an assist on Jeff May's goal that made the score 1-0 Dunnville at 18:00 into the first period. He then added assists on Damien Lalonde's goal at 1:21 into the third and on Chad Springer's goal at 19:42 into the third.

The Jr. Mudcats pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 28 penalty minutes.

Dunnville additionally got points from Lalonde, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Evan Huckalo and Luke Rowe, who contributed one each.

The Riverhawks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Niagara puts an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. The Riverhawks found themselves short handed often, totaling 54 penalty minutes and allowing 13 power plays.

Niagara was led by Dylan Lazarus, who scored the team's only goal. Lazarus scored on the power play 10:01 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Dunnville. The Riverhawks had gained a power play chance when Mark Topp was whistled for tripping. Brandon McLean assisted on the tally.

Brennan Head recorded 19 saves for Dunnville. Niagara's Charanduk stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Riverhawks registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
