Glanbrook survives penalties, beats Simcoe, 5-2

The Glanbrook Rangers, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the Simcoe Storm's power play opportunities and emerged with a 5-2 victory.

Glanbrook was led by Josh Pace, who registered one goal. Pace scored 8:54 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Glanbrook. Curtis Edwards assisted on the tally.

The Rangers' offense rang up 32 shots on Simcoe's net.

Glanbrook additionally got points from Garnet Batrynchuk, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Cole Anderson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Jeff May and Noah Matteson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Drew Jedrzejewicz, who had two and Aaron Smith, Kyle Dumais, Joel Tivanian, Brad Parish, and Malcom Toman, who each chipped in one.

The Storm were helped by Riley Wilson, who racked up one goal. Wilson scored on the power play 8:50 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Simcoe had taken the advantage when Glanbrook's Chad Carey got sent off for interference. Corson Searles picked up the assist. Simcoe also got a goal from Tyler Nagy as well. Other players who recorded assists for Simcoe were Ray Munroe, Matt Small, and Brooks Richard, who contributed one each.

Jay Payton took the win and made 26 saves before being replaced by Matthew Venturelli who made zero saves. The Rangers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Glanbrook, Owen Norton was ejected from the game. Nathan Prusky rejected 27 shots on goal for the Storm. Simcoe incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Storm ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dakota Culbert was ejected from the game.
