Grimsby rides Kirk to victory over Simcoe, 4-1

Fraser Kirk stood on his head and made 31 saves to lead the Grimsby Peach Kings to a 4-1 victory over the Simcoe Storm.

Grimsby was paced by Andrew Brown, who tallied one goal. Brown scored 2:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Grimsby. Jeromy Hopkins picked up the assist.

Simcoe was unable to stop the Peach Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Grimsby eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Grimsby also got a goal from Eric Cerino as well. More assists for Grimsby came via Garnet McComber, who had one and Aidan McCreadie and Curtis Conrad, who contributed two each.

The Storm did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Simcoe puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. The Storm's offense rang up 32 shots on the Peach Kings' net.

Simcoe was led by Bryce Cadwell, who scored the team's only goal. Cadwell scored 9:59 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Grimsby. Taz Myers assisted on the tally.

Grimsby ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. Nathen McKinnon made 32 saves for the Storm on 36 shots. Simcoe finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage.
