Dundas beats Hagersville 4-2 after comeback scare

The Hagersville Hawks tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Dundas Blues would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

Dundas made the score 4-1 on a goal by Dan Pelosini at 14:57 in the third period, and Hagersville got as close as 4-2 when Jacob Solomon scored 18:26 into the third period.

Kevin Jaczenko had two goals to lead the Blues to victory. Jaczenko found the back of the net 3:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dundas and again while 8:21 into the third to make the score 3-0 Dundas.

Dundas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hawks to score on any of their five power plays. The Blues kept Hagersville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jonah Capriotti made 36 saves on 40 shots.

Dundas also got a goal from Cam McConnell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Ray Thompson, who had two and Jake Bain, Nick McMullen, Mitch Moriarity, Matt Johnson, Ryan Waterhouse, and Connor King, who each chipped in one.

The Hawks were helped by Matt Rimac, who had one goal. Rimac scored 10:53 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Dundas. Solomon assisted on the tally. Hagersville also got points from Solomon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Jonathan Pace and Cole Martin, who contributed one each.

Brock Novak made 27 saves for Dundas on 29 shots. The Blues incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hagersville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
