Cowell AP, Grimsby blank Port Dover, 7-0

Tyson Cowell AP was superb between the pipes for the Grimsby Peach Kings, as he did not allow a goal in a 7-0 victory over the Port Dover Sailors.

Grimsby got the win behind a great game by Matthew Jambrosich, who had one goal and two assists. Jambrosich scored 4:21 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Grimsby. Griffin Roubos picked up the assist.

The Peach Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Port Dover power plays. Grimsby's defensive play was more effective than usual against Port Dover. The Peach Kings average 2.1 goals allowed per game. Grimsby kept the Sailors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Horia Lucaciu made 33 saves on 40 shots. The Peach Kings outdid their season average for goals scored. Grimsby has scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Grimsby additionally got points from Eric Cerino, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Joshua Kozielski, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Curtis Conrad, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Grimsby also got a goal from Garnet McComber as well. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Trevor McEneny, Aidan McCreadie, Andrew McMurtrie, and Brennan Smith, who contributed one each.

Port Dover excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Sailors were held below their usual level of production. Port Dover averages 3.7 goals per game.

Cowell AP recorded 25 saves for the Peach Kings. Grimsby incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Sailors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
