Glanbrook rolls over Dunnville, 8-1Glanbrook Arena Wed, Nov 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Glanbrook Rangers were firing on all cylinders against the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, and when the final buzzer sounded Rangers emerged with an 8-1 win. Dunnville was stymied by Glanbrook's netminder Matthew Venturelli, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. Venturelli managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.14 prior to the game. Garnet Batrynchuk was all over the ice for the Rangers, as he racked up two goals in the win. Batrynchuk scored short handed at 13:19 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Glanbrook and again while on the power play 19:47 into the second to make the score 5-0 Glanbrook. Glanbrook forced Jr. Mudcats' netminders to work all game long, getting 33 shots and forcing 25 saves. Josh Rosettani made 13 stops and Brennan Head made 12. The Rangers' goal total was higher than their season average. Glanbrook averages 4.2 goals per game. The Rangers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays. Glanbrook additionally got points from Drew Jedrzejewicz, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Chris Haigh, who also registered two goals and one assist. Glanbrook also got a goal from Cole Anderson as well. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Brad Parish, who had one, Noah Matteson, who had three, and Curtis Edwards, Owen Norton, Malcom Toman, and Josh Pace, who each chipped in two. The Jr. Mudcats were often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Dunnville had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Jr. Mudcats could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Dunnville averages 3.9 goals per game. Glanbrook registered three goals on 11 power play opportunities. The Jr. Mudcats ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mack Steele was ejected from the game.
