Christian nets hat trick, leads Omaha AAA 18U to 5-0 win over Madison Capitols 18U

Matt Christian netted a hat trick to lead Omaha AAA 18U over Madison Capitols 18U, 5-0.

Christian got on the scoresheet 42 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 8:20 into the second and at 10:35 into the third.

Darion Hanson spearheaded the defensive effort for Omaha AAA 18U, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 37 saves for the shutout. Hanson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.83 entering the contest.

Omaha AAA 18U forced Madison Capitols 18U's netminders to work without much rest, taking 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Burton Rehm made 21 stops and Tim Grounds made five. Omaha AAA 18U stifled Madison Capitols 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Others who scored for Omaha AAA 18U included Shayne Monahan and Tycho Falk, who scored one goal each. In addition, Omaha AAA 18U received assists from Jarett Mari, who had one and TJ Polglaze and Albert Tsygurov, who contributed two each.
