HC Dallas 18U uses shootout to best New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U, 6-5

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as HC Dallas 18U defeated New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U in a shootout 6-5.

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. HC Dallas 18U also got a shootout goal from Peter Hatton.

HC Dallas 18U's penalty kill excelled, as HC Dallas 18U gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

HC Dallas 18U kept New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alan Feld made 32 saves on 38 shots.

HC Dallas 18U was led by Hatton, who tallied two goals. Hatton scored the first of his two goals at 4:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Patric Fun provided the assist. Hatton's next tally made the score 5-4 HC Dallas 18U with 11:17 left in the third period. Ethan Smith assisted on the tally. HC Dallas 18U also had goals scored by Lucas Mendes, Aaron Siegrist, and Gary Russell, who each put in one. In addition, HC Dallas 18U received assists from Bobby Rogers and Ethan Chun, who contributed one each.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U was led by Anthony Cusanelli, who had two goals. Cusanelli scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U. New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U had taken the advantage when HC Dallas 18U's Connor Bell got sent off for high sticking. Tim Gelatt picked up the assist. Cusanelli's next tally on the power play made the score 5-5 with 4:10 left in the third period. Michael Gelatt assisted on the tally. Others who scored for New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U included Jimmy Timko, Zach Berzolla, and Charlie Singerhouse, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U were Max Weber and Greg Malafronte, who each chipped in one.

Christophe Jobin recorded 23 saves for HC Dallas 18U. HC Dallas 18U incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
