Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U survives Esmark Stars 16U comeback, wins 3-2

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U, which led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Esmark Stars 16U and clinched a 3-2 victory.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U's Paul Selleck scored at 5:46 in the second period to put Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U up 3-0.

Esmark Stars 16U's power play was ineffective against Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U's power play was punchless, and failed to score a single goal despite having nine power play opportunities. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U was helped by Alexander Werdmuller, who had one goal and one assist. Werdmuller scored 46 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U. Michael Kerbrat picked up the assist. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U additionally got points from Kerbrat, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U received assists from Declan Curtis, Jack Sitzman, Kevin OLeary, and Justin Driffill, who each chipped in one.

Other players who recorded assists for Esmark Stars 16U were Ben Friedland, Alex Crilley, and Jasper Uricchio, who contributed one each.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U's Alexander Frosh stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Hayden Chieffo made four saves before being replaced by Tyler Kurtz, who took the loss and made 21 saves. Esmark Stars 16U incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
