Hagersville blows out Port Dover, 7-3

The Hagersville Hawks were firing on all cylinders against the Port Dover Sailors, and when the final buzzer sounded Hawks emerged with a 7-3 win.

Hagersville forced Sailors' goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 52 shots and forcing 45 saves. Mike Caluori made 33 stops and Horia Lucaciu made 12. The Hawks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Hagersville averages 3.7 goals per game.

The Hawks were led by Matt Rimac, who racked up one goal and two assists. Rimac scored 1:05 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Hagersville. Travis Bell provided the assist. Hagersville additionally got points from Derek Friesen, who also registered one goal and one assist. Hagersville also had goals scored by Dylan Spurr, Jake MacDougall, Jacob Brown, Mitch Green, and Dan Mederios, who scored one goal each. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Jake Reichheld, who had two and John Monture, Jacob Solomon, and Curtis Dortenzio, who each chipped in one.

Port Dover stifled Hagersville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Sailors kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dortenzio made 28 saves on 31 shots.

Port Dover was led by Michael Almas, who finished with one goal and one assist. Almas scored on the power play 45 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Hagersville. Brandon Dunnett assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Port Dover included Michael Boateng and Colin Streutker, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Port Dover were Josh Miedema, who had one.

Hagersville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Sailors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
