Huge game by Streutker boosts Port Dover over Simcoe, 8-6

Colin Streutker was all over the ice for the Port Dover Sailors, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Port Dover's 8-6 win over the Simcoe Storm.

Streutker found the back of the net 19:28 into the third period to make the score 7-6 Port Dover and again while 19:52 into the third to make the score 8-6 Port Dover.

The Sailors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Simcoe to score on any of its four power plays. Port Dover's offense rang up 50 shots on the Storm's net. The Sailors surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Port Dover averages 3.7 goals per game.

Port Dover also got points from Eric Mueller, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Port Dover included Braden Roberts, who had three and Jordan Lenko and Josh Miedema, who each put in one. In addition, Port Dover received assists from Justin Bell, who had two and Camden Freeman, Colin Montour, Bryson Barr, Michael Boateng, and Nick DeLuca, who contributed one each.

Simcoe's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Port Dover power plays. The Storm kept the Sailors' goalie busy throughout the game, and #$self.jersey made 28 saves on 34 shots. Simcoe outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Storm average 3.7 goals per contest.

Simcoe was led by Riley Wilson, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Wilson scored short handed 8:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A roughing call on Bryce Cadwell put the Storm on the penalty kill. Simcoe also had goals scored by Tyler Nagy, Ricky Johnston, Corson Searles, Tyler Arsenault, and Taz Myers, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Simcoe were Connor Mackay, who had two.

Port Dover incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nathen McKinnon rejected 42 shots on goal for Simcoe. The Storm incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
