Huge game by King boosts Dundas over Niagara, 4-1Gale Centre Sun, Nov 02, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dundas Blues' Connor King had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 4-1 win over the Niagara Riverhawks. King scored 9:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dundas. Clay Donnelly assisted on the tally. King dished an assist on Cam McConnell's goal that made the score 2-0 Dundas at 14:09 into the second period. He added another helper on Braxton Andrews's goal that made the score 3-0 Dundas at 19:38 into the second period.Niagara's power play was ineffective against Dundas' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Riverhawks were unable to stop the Blues from sending pucks towards the net, and Dundas eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Blues' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Dundas finished with 30 penalty minutes. Dundas also got points from McConnell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Dundas also got a goal from Ray Thompson as well. More assists for Dundas came via Kevin Jaczenko, who had one. Niagara could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Riverhawks average 3.6 goals per game. Niagara's offense rang up 33 shots on the Blues' net. The Riverhawks were led by Kyle Robertson, who scored the team's only goal. Robertson scored on the power play 11:30 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Dundas. Niagara had taken the advantage when Dundas' Greg Harley got sent off for head contact. Zack Mulvale provided the assist. Brock Novak recorded 32 saves for the Blues. Dundas registered two goals on four power play opportunities. The Riverhawks' Kyle Poole stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Niagara incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
