Dunnville blows out Glanbrook, 5-2

The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Glanbrook Rangers.

Dunnville's penalty kill excelled, as the Jr. Mudcats gave up one goal despite allowing 10 power plays.

Dunnville was helped by Brock Parker AP, who finished with one goal. Parker AP scored 3:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dunnville. Andy Metzler picked up the assist. Others who scored for Dunnville included Steven Czepek, Brandon Dear, Travis Sheldrake, and Jeff May, who scored one goal each. More assists for Dunnville came via Mark Topp, Evan Huckalo, and Chad Springer, who each chipped in one and Mack Steele and Dan Arrowsmith, who contributed two each.

Glanbrook was held below its usual level of production. The Rangers put an average of 4.6 pucks into the net per game.

Glanbrook was led by Noah Matteson, who grabbed two goals. Matteson scored the first of his two goals at 8:50 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Dunnville. Jeff May provided the assist. Matteson's next tally made the score 4-2 Dunnville with 7:27 left in the third period. The Rangers earned a power play opportunity when Mitch Holodnuik was put in the box for delay of game. Cameron Frail assisted on the tally. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Chris Haigh, who had one.

Josh Rosettani rejected 27 shots on goal for the Jr. Mudcats. Dunnville incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Matthew Venturelli recorded 10 saves for Glanbrook. The Rangers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Glanbrook ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tyler Strabac was ejected from the game.
