The Glanbrook Rangers almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Grimsby Peach Kings managed to pull out a 4-2 win in the end. Grimsby led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Peach Kings' Andrew McMurtrie scored at 4:39 in the second period to put Grimsby up 4-1. The Peach Kings forced Rangers' goaltenders to work between the pipes, finishing with 40 shots and forcing 36 saves. Jay Payton made zero stops and Matthew Venturelli made 36. Grimsby's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Glanbrook power plays. The Peach Kings were helped by Griffin Roubos, who registered one goal. Roubos scored 6:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Grimsby. McMurtrie provided the assist. Grimsby also got points from McMurtrie, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Grimsby included Derek Rotter and Malcolm Lynett, who each put in one. More assists for Grimsby came via Andrew Brown, Joshua Kozielski, and Curtis Conrad, who each chipped in one. Glanbrook put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Grimsby to score on any of its five power plays. The Rangers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Glanbrook averages 4.4 goals per game. The Rangers were helped by Garnet Batrynchuk, who racked up one goal and one assist. Batrynchuk scored 19:24 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Grimsby. Jacob Kelly picked up the assist. Glanbrook additionally got points from Curtis Edwards, who also had one goal and one assist. The Peach Kings' Jeremy Currie stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Grimsby incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Glanbrook incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
