Huge game by Lenko boosts Port Dover over Glanbrook, 5-1

The Port Dover Sailors' Jordan Lenko had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-1 win over the Glanbrook Rangers.

Lenko scored at 8:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover and again while 12:20 into the first to make the score 2-0 Port Dover.

Port Dover was led by goalie Horia Lucaciu, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Lucaciu certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.7 entering the contest.

The Sailors forced Glanbrook's netminders to work in net, finishing with 43 shots and forcing 38 saves. Matthew Venturelli made 11 stops and Jay Payton made 27. Port Dover put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rangers to score on any of their five power plays.

Port Dover also had goals scored by Michael Almas, Jacob Dafoe, and Josh Turberfield, who scored one goal each. More assists for Port Dover came via Eric Mueller, Colin Montour, Bryson Barr, Michael Boateng, Nick DeLuca, and Braden Roberts, who each chipped in one.

Glanbrook stifled the Sailors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rangers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Glanbrook averages 4.8 goals per game.

Garnet Batrynchuk also scored for Glanbrook. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Chris Haigh and Anthony Whitwell, who contributed one each.

Port Dover incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Rangers incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
