Logan Baird scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Simcoe Storm held off the challenges of the Port Dover Sailors in a tough 5-3 win. Baird provided Simcoe with the game-winning tally when he scored 16:45 into the first period. Ricky Johnston assisted on the tally.The Storm's penalty kill excelled, as Simcoe gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Storm were led by Tyler Nagy, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Nagy scored 11:06 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Simcoe. Simcoe stifled Port Dover's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Simcoe also got points from Ray Munroe, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Simcoe included Corson Searles and Tyler Arsenault, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Simcoe were Taz Myers, who had two and Jamie Kelly and Connor Mackay, who each chipped in one. The Sailors' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Simcoe power plays. Port Dover was helped by Michael Boateng, who registered one goal. Boateng scored 15:44 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Simcoe. Michael Almas picked up the assist. Port Dover additionally got points from Almas, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Eric Mueller, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Port Dover received assists from Nick DeLuca, Bradon Roberts, and Colin Streutker, who contributed one each. Evan Wolfe rejected 20 shots on goal for the Storm. Simcoe incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Sailors' Horia Lucaciu stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Port Dover incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
