Grimsby downs Simcoe, 4-1Talbot Gardens Tue, Sep 23, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Griffin Roubos grabbed two points to lead the Grimsby Peach Kings to a 4-1 victory over the Simcoe Storm. Grimsby's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Simcoe power plays. Simcoe was unable to stop the Peach Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Grimsby eventually piled up 57 shots on goal. Others who scored for Grimsby included Andrew McMurtrie, Curtis Conrad, and Brennan Smith, who scored one goal each. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Dillon Cipretti, Aidan McCreadie, Derek Rotter, and Liam Bruch, who each chipped in one. The Storm were led by Taz Myers, who scored the team's only goal. Myers scored 40 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Simcoe. The Peach Kings' Jeremy Currie stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Grimsby incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Evan Wolfe made 53 saves for Simcoe on 57 shots. The Storm incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
