Omaha AAA 18U vanquishes New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U in shootout, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Omaha AAA 18U defeated New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U in a shootout 4-3.

The two teams needed seven turns to complete the shootout. Omaha AAA 18U's other shootout goal was scored by TJ Polglaze.

Omaha AAA 18U overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Omaha AAA 18U trailed 3-2 after a short handed goal by New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U's Greg Malafronte at 3:52 in the third period. Omaha AAA 18U tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Cole Wild at 4:44 in the third period.

Omaha AAA 18U was led by Polglaze, who registered two goals. Polglaze scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Omaha AAA 18U. Omaha AAA 18U had taken the advantage when New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U's Charlie Singerhouse got sent off for tripping. Tycho Falk assisted on the tally. Polglaze's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 7:18 left in the second period. More assists for Omaha AAA 18U came via Albert Tsygurov, Phil Heisse, and Tristan Ashbrook, who contributed one each.

Omaha AAA 18U was unable to stop New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U from sending pucks towards the net, and New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U was led by Brad Becker, who racked up one goal and one assist. Becker scored on the power play 9:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U. New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U had gained a power play chance when Jake Sutton was whistled for tripping. Anthony Cusanelli picked up the assist. Chris Wuestneck also scored for New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U. In addition, New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U received assists from Zach Berzolla and Mike Gelatt, who each chipped in one.

Darion Hanson rejected 40 shots on goal for Omaha AAA 18U. Omaha AAA 18U incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Alan Feld recorded 17 saves for New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U. New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
