Little Caesars 18U uses shootout to best CYA 18U, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Little Caesars 18U defeated CYA 18U in a shootout 3-2.

The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout. In addition to the clincher, Little Caesars 18U got a shootout goal from Mario Damico.

CYA 18U's power play was ineffective against Little Caesars 18U's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Little Caesars 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow CYA 18U to score on any of its seven power plays.

Little Caesars 18U was helped by Matthew Hudie, who registered one goal. Hudie scored 15:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Little Caesars 18U. Jiri Hozak provided the assist. Little Caesars 18U also got a goal from Jared Domin as well. In addition, Little Caesars 18U received assists from Zack Parrott and Luke Morgan, who each chipped in one.

CYA 18U stifled Little Caesars 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

CYA 18U was helped by Johnathan Edelson, who racked up one goal. Edelson scored 11:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. James Caras picked up the assist. Anthony Tzeyn also scored for CYA 18U. More assists for CYA 18U came via Alex Dibacco and Brett Callahan, who contributed one each.

Little Caesars 18U incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Little Caesars 18U, Evan Ketner was ejected from the game. CYA 18U incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
