Compuware 18U uses shootout to best Pursuit of Excellence 18U, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Compuware 18U defeated Pursuit of Excellence 18U in a shootout 3-2.

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Compuware 18U got a shootout goal from Hayden Winch.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U's power play was ineffective against Compuware 18U's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Compuware 18U was helped by Cam Dyde, who finished with one goal. Dyde scored 12:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Compuware 18U. Daniel Miller assisted on the tally. Jacob Dalton also scored for Compuware 18U. In addition, Compuware 18U received assists from Jonathan Precopio and Miller Rubin, who contributed one each.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U stifled Compuware 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U was helped by Jarod Hovde, who registered one goal. Hovde scored 7:13 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Pursuit of Excellence 18U also got a goal from Brett Piper as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pursuit of Excellence 18U were Jake Harrison and Brendan Lane, who each chipped in one.

Justyn Gillis recorded 25 saves for Compuware 18U. Compuware 18U incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Pursuit of Excellence 18U's Colten Lancaster stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Pursuit of Excellence 18U incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
