Berndt's goals lift Madison Capitols 18U to 3-1 victory over Pikes Peak Miners 18U

Madison Capitols 18U relied on the scoring touch of Tyler Berndt, who netted two goals, to beat Pikes Peak Miners 18U, 3-1.

Berndt scored at 25 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Madison Capitols 18U and again while 12:21 into the third to make the score 3-1 Madison Capitols 18U.

Madison Capitols 18U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 43 penalty minutes.

Madison Capitols 18U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Madison Capitols 18U also got a goal from Jordan Fader as well. In addition, Madison Capitols 18U received assists from Austin Redders and Cole Hults, who contributed one each.

Pikes Peak Miners 18U's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Pikes Peak Miners 18U finished with 24 penalty minutes.
