Minnesota Revolution 18U holds on for 3-2 win against Pursuit of Excellence 18U

Pursuit of Excellence 18U tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Minnesota Revolution 18U held on for a 3-2 victory.

Minnesota Revolution 18U made the score 3-0 on a goal by Matthew Acers at 12:25 in the second period, and Pursuit of Excellence 18U got as close as 3-2 when Mitchell Zambon scored 6:05 into the third period.

Minnesota Revolution 18U got the win with help from a great game by Acers, who had one goal and two assists.

Minnesota Revolution 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pursuit of Excellence 18U to score on any of its four power plays.

Minnesota Revolution 18U also had goals scored by Cory Sprague and Colin Jones, who scored one goal each. In addition, Minnesota Revolution 18U received assists from Wyatt Nielsen, who had two and Mitchel Andres and Landon Rivard, who each chipped in one.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Minnesota Revolution 18U power plays. Minnesota Revolution 18U was unable to stop Pursuit of Excellence 18U from sending pucks towards the net, and Pursuit of Excellence 18U eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.
