Toriumi's goals lift California Titans 18U to 3-1 victory over Pursuit of Excellence 18U

Kane Toriumi was all over the ice for California Titans 18U, as he tallied two goals in California Titans 18U's 3-1 win over Pursuit of Excellence 18U.

Toriumi scored at 7:45 into the third period to make the score 2-1 California Titans 18U and again while 16:56 into the third to make the score 3-1 California Titans 18U.

California Titans 18U's Nicholas Nast was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 30 saves and let only one puck past him. Nast certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.92 entering the contest.

Nicholas Bortolotto also scored for California Titans 18U. In addition, California Titans 18U received assists from Danny Gold, who had two and Evan Somoza, Connor Chilton, Dylan Miller, and Connor Meaney, who contributed one each.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U forced California Titans 18U goalie Nast to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U was led by Zachary Zorn, who scored the team's only goal. Zorn scored 1:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jarod Hovde provided the assist.

California Titans 18U totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For California Titans 18U, Chilton was ejected from the game. Joseph McLeod rejected 20 shots on goal for Pursuit of Excellence 18U. Pursuit of Excellence 18U totaled 27 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Pursuit of Excellence 18U ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Zorn was ejected from the game.
