Madison Capitols 16U survives San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U comeback, wins 2-1

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but Madison Capitols 16U held on for a 2-1 victory.

Madison Capitols 16U took a 2-0 lead during the third period, only to have San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U storm back on a Evan Rittenhouse goal 13:41 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U's power play was ineffective against Madison Capitols 16U's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Madison Capitols 16U was sparked by Blake Nelson, who tallied one goal. Nelson scored 8:01 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Madison Capitols 16U. Mike Butcher provided the assist.

Madison Capitols 16U stifled San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
