Esmark Stars 16U rips Madison Capitols 16U, 5-1

Esmark Stars 16U had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over Madison Capitols 16U.

Esmark Stars 16U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 52 penalty minutes.

Esmark Stars 16U was sparked by Nikita Slivchenko, who had one goal. Slivchenko scored 4:26 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Esmark Stars 16U. Cam Williams assisted on the tally.

Esmark Stars 16U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Madison Capitols 16U power plays.

Esmark Stars 16U also got points from Ben Friedland, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Beau Heakins, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Jasper Uricchio also scored for Esmark Stars 16U. In addition, Esmark Stars 16U received assists from Brendan Johns, who had two and Jonathon McDonald, Alec Bosnic, and Alex Crilley, who contributed one each.

Madison Capitols 16U's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Madison Capitols 16U finished with 24 penalty minutes.
