Pittsburgh rips Cincinnati, 8-1

The Cincinnati Swords had trouble finding ways to stop the Pittsburgh Vengeance, which beat Swords, 8-1.

Brennan Osen was all over the ice for Pittsburgh, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Osen scored the first of his two goals short handed at 2:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh. The Vengeance found themselves down a man on Parker Henry's tripping. Osen's next tally short handed made the score 7-1 Pittsburgh with 14:44 left in the third period. Brennan Conway assisted on the tally.

Pittsburgh stifled Cincinnati's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Vengeance's offense rang up 52 shots on the Swords' net. Pittsburgh's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Vengeance average 3.6 goals per contest. The defensemen of Pittsburgh were also effective in Cincinnati's zone, and came away with two goals.

Pittsburgh also got points from Bryan Hovanec, who also had one goal and one assist, Henry, who also finished with three goals and one assist, and Conway, who also registered two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Pittsburgh were Adem Arifi, who had two, Nils Markgren, who had four, and Leo Blore and Tyler Speis, who each chipped in one.

The Swords were led by Jessie Fracassi, who scored the team's only goal. Fracassi scored 7:22 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Pittsburgh.

The Vengeance's Jacob Stack stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Pittsburgh incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brandon Kruger rejected 44 shots on goal for Cincinnati. The Swords incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
