Texas blows out Dallas, 6-1NYTEX Sports Center Sun, Mar 01, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Texas Jr. Brahmas were firing on all cylinders against the Dallas Jr. Stars, and when the final buzzer sounded Jr. Brahmas emerged with a 6-1 win. Texas was led by Paolo DiGenova, who registered one goal. DiGenova scored 14:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Texas. Nick Nitta picked up the assist. The Jr. Brahmas forced Jr. Stars' goaltenders to work in net, getting 47 shots and forcing 41 saves. Chris Mallon made 39 stops and Anthony Galliart made two. Texas bested its season scoring average. The Jr. Brahmas average 3.7 goals per game. Texas also got points from Mykyta Sheptytsky, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Sam Gagnon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Devin Pierce also scored for Texas. Other players who recorded assists for Texas were Jimmy Anderson, who had one, Kurt Thiele, who had three, and Brock Brown and Ryan Dunner, who contributed two each. Texas' defense shut down Dallas' forwards for much of the game, and the Jr. Stars got off only 10 shots during the contest. Dallas did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up only one minor for 22 minutes in penalty time. Dallas also got a goal from Kayne Fedor as well. More assists for Dallas came via Tyler Valentin and Drew Hill, who each chipped in one. Joe Hacker made nine saves for the Jr. Brahmas on 10 shots. Texas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Jr. Stars registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
