Nashville penalty kill dominates in 2-1 defeat of Point Mallard

The Nashville Jr. Predators' penalty kill was superb, as Nashville survived multiple penalties to beat the Point Mallard Ducks, 2-1.

The Jr. Predators were paced by Jon Severson, who tallied one goal. Severson scored 14:09 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Nashville. Ben Falk assisted on the tally.

Nashville was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Predators put an average of 4.8 pucks into the net per game.

Trent Kulczyk also scored for Nashville. In addition, Nashville received assists from Jon Evans, who had one.

Point Mallard's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Nashville power plays. The Ducks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Point Mallard averages 3.9 goals per game.

The Ducks were led by Noah Gilreath, who scored the team's only goal. Gilreath scored on the power play 7:36 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard. Jake Cox provided the assist.

Justin Ball recorded 17 saves for Nashville. The Jr. Predators incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Point Mallard's Cooper Seedott stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Ducks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
