The Point Mallard Ducks beat the Nashville Jr. Predators, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Justin Dunn provided Point Mallard with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:04 into the first period. The Ducks had gotten the advantage when Nashville's Spencer Marchand was sent off for holding. Brad Reitter provided the assist.The Jr. Predators were stymied by Point Mallard's netminder Roman Bengert, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Bengert certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.16 entering the contest. Dunn was all over the ice for the Ducks, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Point Mallard's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Nashville power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Point Mallard also got points from Noah Gilreath, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Point Mallard also got a goal from Justin Provencher as well. More assists for Point Mallard came via Killian Gray, who had one. Nashville's offense operated below its season average. The Jr. Predators put an average of 4.8 pucks into the net per game. Nashville was led by Ben Falk, who scored the team's only goal. Falk scored 2:05 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Point Mallard. The Ducks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. Predators' Nathan Klebe stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Nashville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
